Posse Summary:

The Sheriff’s Posse of Westbrook Village, Inc., formed in 1999.  It is the only posse, which operates within an incorporated city (Peoria) in Maricopa County. 
The posse is a non-profit organization, IRC 501c3, solely funded by the monetary donations from the residents of Westbrook Village.

As a community based posse, The Westbrook Posse activities include street patrol, vacation checks, approved event traffic control, other approved events within Westbrook Village, Lake Patrol and any MCSO Detail Requests.

The posse owns three marked patrol cars, one unmarked car and two marked golf carts. The posse operates on a digital radio system in each vehicle and portable units for officers.

There is a regular duty schedule with three shifts available; morning, afternoon and evening.  Also, a regular schedule for dispatchers have the same schedule to ensure the protection and safety of our posse members while on patrol.

Requirements for Membership:

• Complete Maricopa County Sheriff's Office application and approval

• Complete Westbrook Village Posse application and approval

• Minimum of 4 hours per week
• May reside within or outside of Westbrook Village
• Attend monthly posse meetings the third Thursday of each month
• Required re-fresh internal training every 6 months

An initial clothing allowance is given once the posse member has been approved and initial training completed.  Each year thereafter, a clothing allowance is given based upon the number of volunteer hours completed.
